Tasting Notes

For tasting notes, we offer up to 5 characterizing notes, and focus on those that should be the most noticeable for the average enthusiast (rather than every possible nuanced tasting note).

  • Hay
  • Light cedar
  • White pepper
  • Hint of cinnamon
  • Nutmeg

Transitions

Transitioning into the 2nd third the white pepper comes to the forefront accompanied by a pleasant note of cinnamon with the hay and the cedar now taking a backseat. White pepper is very present in the retrohale. Smoke output has gone from good to great and the burn is still good (but did require a touch up).

Getting into the final third, the overall body of the cigar has intensified with cinnamon nutmeg and white pepper being the main notes. Overall, this is a really well balanced and well constructed medium-full cigar. The notes of white pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg, hay and cedar blend well and compliment each other. The strength of this cigar starts out strong but seems to mellow as it goes while the body ramps up but is never overpowering.

Notable Highlights

One of My Father's lighter offerings compared to some of their other facing such as The Judge or Le Bijou but by no means is this a light or mild cigar. The strength of this cigar is apparent right away. Good draw and good smoke output. Medium-full body and tad on the strong side when it comes to strength. Beautiful construction. The sungrown Nicaraguan wrapper resembles a nice evenly colored auburn leather jacket. Nice pre-light draw with a note of hay. Just a slight burn of spices on the lips.
